My wine education began in Napa Valley in the early Seventies, before Napa and Sonoma became chic. None of today’s cult Cabernets existed then, and at least one major producer labeled his Chardonnay as Pinot Chardonnay. My wine collection now encompasses many countries and regions, with a bottle count Trish calls overtly self-indulgent.
